Government Fleets
Biodiesel
is one of the fastest-growing alternative fuels among federal fleets.
The Biodiesel Fuel Use Credit Interim Final Rule became effective
January 9th 2001, allowing covered fleets to meet Energy Policy
Act of 1992 (EPAct) requirements through the purchase of biodiesel
fuel.
One
fuel use credit, counted as one AFV acquisition, will be allocated
to fleets for each purchase of 450 gallons of B100 (neat) biodiesel
fuel. Fleet managers can also count biodiesel blends (i.e.- B20)
toward fuel use credits, see chart below.

In addition to the EPAct requirements, Executive
Order 13149 requires all Federal Agencies fleets with 20 or
more vehicles reduce their annual petroleum consumption at least
20 percent by 2005.
The Biodiesel Solution:
-
No transition cost: Directly reduce petroleum
usage in diesel-powered vehicles without replacing or modifying
vehicles.
- Flexibility:
Biodiesel and petroleum diesels are interchangeable and blendable
which makes refueling easy.
- Lubricity:
The EPA sulfur reduction mandate dramatically reduces lubricity
in petroleum diesel fuel. Biodiesel, including low biodiesel blends
like B20, is a natural lubricant for your fuel system.
- Reduces
Harmful Emissions:
Our biodiesel has successfully completed Tier I and Tier II Health
Effects Testing under the Clean Air Act and is proven to reduce
harmful emissions, including sulfur, hydrocarbons and other toxic
particulates, associated with petroleum-based diesel.
- Availability:
Thanks to the comprehensive distribution network of our partner
World Energy, we offer availability to public and private fleets
year-round in all climate and weather conditions.
